Expoprotection 2024: Eurofeu wins the Innovation Trophy for its Recycled Fire Extinguishing Powder!

We're proud to share some great news: Eurofeu has won the Innovation Trophy at Expoprotection 2024 thanks to our fully recycled ABC fire extinguishing powder, a world first in the fire safety sector. This trophy rewards our commitment to more sustainable fire safety and our progress in the circular economy.

Eurocycle ABC 40: A major ecological step forward

Today, fire extinguishing powders face a major environmental challenge: phosphate, the main component of these products, is expected to run out by 2050. Currently, almost 90% of used powders are not recycled after their 15-20 year life cycle. Eurofeu has therefore developed a unique process in partnership with Circle Chemicals and QUALITY ENVIRONNEMENT, which enables used ABC powders to be recycled and reintegrated into the manufacture of new extinguishers. By 2024, this innovation will already account for 30% of our annual extinguisher production.

A significant impact on the environment

Thanks to our EN615-approved recycled powder, Eurocycle ABC 40, we will reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by -90% compared to the production of new powder, equivalent to avoiding the emission of 1,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year. This is a major step towards a more environmentally-friendly future.
